Presbyterians are part of the Reformed family of Protestant churches that broke away from the Roman Catholic Church in the sixteenth century in Europe. Reformed Christians believe that the Bible is the inspired guide for Christian faith and practice, and our worship service centers around the good news for us today that comes to us from Scripture. We believe that the risen Christ is present with us whenever we gather for prayer and worship, guiding us in all aspects of living our lives.
We believe worship should be joyful, relevant, and inspiring. We celebrate Christ’s presence with us through the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of communion. We believe in praising God through singing and prayer. Congregational prayer is an important part of our Christian spiritual practice, and prayer concerns are shared and prayed over every Sunday.
We believe that worship equips us for service in the world in Christ’s name. Involvement in local and international mission and ecumenical activities is a priority for our congregation and our denomination. Christ calls us to be his body in the world — his hands, his feet, his heart, his voice. Presbyterians accept this call to joyful service willingly and seriously. We seek to faithfully live our lives in community as a congregation, as residents of Flora and communities in the surrounding area, and to the ends of the Earth.

We praise God through singing and prayer, celebrate Christ’s presence with us through the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of communion, and seek to be faithful as we live our lives in community as a congregation and as residents of the Flora area. Our members come from many surrounding communities, as well.
Worship on Sunday morning is joyful, relevant, and inspiring. We open worship with praise singing and our choir leads the singing of hymns and sings a contemporary anthem every Sunday during the school year. Congregational prayer is an important part of our Christian spiritual practice, and prayer concerns are shared and prayed over every Sunday.
